Culture connects on climate…
C-Change has resulted in new support and collaboration on climate action in Wrocław. Highlights include climate literacy training – 4 sector trainers in place, 48 people trained so far from 27 cultural organisations – and a pilot programme with five engagement actions – including the city library’s eco-DIY initiative and Entropia Gallery’s animated film on ocean pollution. The pilot actions formed part of the Wrocław C-Change Festival 2021, 11 events over 3 weeks, including ‘Earthling’ an online theatre performance and a gallery workshops on waste for families.
The municipality has now started a new Green Culture programme to continue what was started with C-Change. A new working group has also been set up to bring cultural organisations together on how to act and produce culture in an environmentally friendly way.
The city’s new Cultural Council, elected in 2020, has been tasked with developing an integrated cultural strategy. C-Change has helped to highlight the importance of making climate and environmental action and engagement a part of this strategy.

“C-Change is not only a slogan, not only the implementation of best practice and solutions. It is primarily the people who created this project - their commitment, enthusiasm, vision, their responsibility for the city and the environment….. We will continue the co-operation started through C-Change under the new municipal programme ‘Green Culture’.”
